~Answers~ From
Jan Austin (Denton): All of the twins we went to school with Question 2: What is your worse High School Memory? Not finishing high school Question 3: What was the craziest thing that has happened to you since high school? Had three kids. Am a twin and had twins. Question 4: Have you changed a lot since High School? If so, in what way/s? I gained weight. Question 5: If you could do High School all over again, what would you do different? I would finish. From
Silvia Corradin (Lawniczak): All the choir activities by far... the Musical Explosion, the Choir trips, to Durango the Junior year, and to Carlsbad the Senior year. Attending the football games to me, who grew up in Italy without this sort of thing, was quite a hoot. Question 2: What is your worse High School Memory? Hmmm... probably just feeling like a geek, like I did not belong. I was really quite shy at the time, so that did not help matters! Question 3: What was the craziest thing that has happened to you since high school? So many crazy things happened since high school I have a hard time picking! From traveling with an expired passport, to the crazy jobs I had over the years, but if I had to pick the most 'amazing' thing, is the fact that a couple of years ago I married the man that I felt 'got away from me' back in 1985. Quite a story! Question 4: Have you changed a lot since High School? If so, in what way/s? I was so shy and naive in High School, I did change A LOT indeed. Both physically and emotionally. Most people have a hard time recognizing me. Question 5: If you could do High School all over again, what would you do different? I am not sure I would do much different, but if I could do it over today, it would be easier for me simply because I am so much more outgoing... and I know the English language so much better! LOL Additional
Questions: Ivrea,
Italy Well,
I can't say his name, but there was one guy that I really liked, but I just knew he would never date me so I never
asked. Interestingly enough, after High School (and after I lost
15lb, bleached my hair blonde and started wearing contact lenses) he did ask
me out and... I refused... I think I was just upset that all of a
sudden I was 'datable material' and before I wasn't? I didn't like
that... after all, I was the same person inside, so I said no. The two guys
that I ended up marrying liked me way before the transformation...
yes, I liked that! It means they liked me for ME. None
of them! I didn't have a car until late in 1984, but when I did it was 10th. From
Michael Cosentino: Scott Parson's impromptu parties. On several occasions, I happened to go over to Scott's house late in the day and he said, "Hey my mom is gone tonight, so let's have a party." Somehow, we would manage to do so on such notice. I guess it helped that Scott played the guitar and so we could put together a band for the evening. We would then get people to come over and, Voila! a party. At one of these, Scott and Stony Beal made a big deal out of "spiking" the punch. Actually, they had not been able to get the alcohol, but we did not tell the others. Everyone who didn't know and who drank expected to get drunk, and they acted that way. To top it all off, when someone started telling jokes, all the "drunk" kids laughed like crazy. Then Stony told a 15 minute story that wasn't even a joke, and really didn't have a punch line, and all the "drunk" people laughed for ten minutes afterwards. Then Scott said, "Hey that made no sense," and everyone laughed at having been laughing at nothing. At another of these, we threw together a punk rock band, and wrote at least six songs in two hours and performed them. Scott did not have his usual guitar amp then, so he wired and electrical taped like 20 mini speakers together into an actually functioning "mini tower" amp. It worked great for the "concert." Question 2: What is your worse High School Memory? The pretty girl who told me she'd rather baby sit than go to the prom with me. And then, the people who knew me (fortunately, not friends) who heckled me for having bought the tickets before I had asked. Question 3: What was the craziest thing that has happened to you since high school? Having carefully managed the preparation for, competition for, and successful achievement of a career as a U.S. Army officer serving to defend freedom from the Godless Soviets in the Cold War, only to arrive at my first duty station and pick up a paper that said, "Russian tanks being withdrawn from Germany." Particularly aggravating was having studied Russian and German as part of a History degree, and finding out that it all was going to help me very little getting my next job, without adding another degree. Question 4: Have you changed a lot since High School? If so, in what way/s? I would say I am older, wiser, and professionally trained, and therefore much more employable! Question 5: If you could do High School all over again, what would you do different? There was a three paragraph format essay I wrote in Advanced English that today I could not have written without being arrested. What I wrote was a joke, and the teacher knew it was a joke. But since the nation has had the Columbine High School incident, and under the current "zero tolerance" policies anything "too offensive" lands people in serious trouble. I certainly would have omitted writing that essay had I known the kinds of things kids would do today, and how people would overreact to them. From
Chris Roller (McCumber): One of the best memories
I have is when I went with Cyndi Bolduc, her boyfriend at the time,
Doug Hohe, Cheryl Decker and I think Cheryl's brother and maybe
even her boyfriend?? to the Journey -- or was it Night Ranger? concert
in Las Cruces. I told my parents I had to work that night, but instead
went to the concert with them and so as soon as the concert was
over, Doug had to high-tail it back to Alamo going about 100mph
in his awesome Pontiac LeMans in order to make sure I was home by
11pm (around the time I normally got home from work!) so I wouldn't
get caught or get in trouble w/my parents. I still can't believe
I pulled that one off without my parents finding out about it! Question 2: What is your worse High School Memory? The worse high school memory I have is when I found out my 'boyfriend', Barry (where the heck is he now by the way?) cheated on me with Denise while on a drama trip (or was it a debate team trip?). I think I found out right after I went to the Homecoming Dance with Barry. If I had known it before, I would have never bothered wasting my time on him. Drummers....ha...then again I married one -- and am still married to him. :) Question 3: What was the craziest thing that has happened to you since high school? I'm truly afraid to broadcast it, but I'll never forget it and would have never, ever, expected anything like that to happen to me - the summer of 1986...seriously...some of you may know what I'm talking about....but, let's just put it this way, the jerk (and that's putting it lightly) is spending some quality time in the Santa Fe prison now. But I tell you what, after that incident, my former happy-go-lucky attitude died for a long time. Question 4: Have you changed a lot since High School? If so, in what way/s? No, I haven't changed much really - I'm still loud and laugh a lot (God, we have to, to make it in this world, don't we?). If there's any area where I've changed, it's probably my self-confidence (I have more now). I could give a rat's *** about who likes me, whether I'm wearing the right brand of sneakers or not, or whether I'm well-liked or not (especially in the workplace!). Someone hinted to me that I should have become an attorney due to my sarcasm and sharp tongue at times. Was I sarcastic in high school? If I was, I can't remember. Question 5: If you could do High School all over again, what would you do different? I would work to my fullest potential - I never did find out what I was truly capable of until my last couple of years in college. If I had to do it all over again, I would work harder for better grades. Oh, and I probably would have participated in track or something like that - even though I enjoyed band, it sure did suck the life/time out of me in high school! Question 6 (Personal Addition): Who was your favorite teacher? Mrs. Millier (Holder) was mine (English). Oh and also Mr. Matthews (Physics) - he was so down to Earth and made Physics fun! From Kristina Nelson: When my Physics teacher acted like she was a boy and sounded like a girl Question 2: What is your worse High School Memory? When my aunt died Question 3: What was the craziest thing that has happened to you since high school? Hooking up with my fiancée. Question 4: Have you changed a lot since High School? If so, in what way/s? No. Question 5: If you could do High School all over again, what would you do different? Changing going with my ex From Brian
Cyr: Hmmmm two things come to mind. Several of us used to sit together at lunch. You know, the geek table. Among the members of the regular group were Michael Cosentino and Scott Parsons. One day, we had taken what was left of a shake and filled it will all sorts of "goodies" from our trays. Well on a dare, we got Mike to drink it. As he gluged it down we all began to chant until finally a couple of us were on our knees chanting and bowing to Mike. It was hilarious. Another was during one of Scott's parties. It was getting late and the guys were recounting the virtues of the Rocky Horror Picture show. Now being a "virgin" (in several definitions of the word) we got it into our heads to drive to El Paso and see the midnight showing. So we piled into a car and drove the 90 minutes to El Paso. When we arrived, we found that the movie had left town the week before so we settled on a vampire horror flick. Ever since then I have never failed to check the listings ahead of time. This vampire flick was so beyond bad that it was side splitting outrageous. I have hardly ever laughed that hard since. Question 2: What is your worse High School Memory? The bus and the bullies. 'nuf said Question 3: What was the craziest thing that has happened to you since high school? You mean besides the alien abduction? :) Just kidding. The times I got talked into underwear modeling Question 4: Have you changed a lot since High School? If so, in what way/s? Changed a lot? Nope. I am the same ol' guy. I finally filled out. That was a fun few years but I kept on filling out and now... well... I can't seem to stop. I did finally lose the coke bottle glasses and matured a little... just a little. Question 5: If you could do High School all over again, what would you do different? Different? 1. I would have worked a little harder to get better grades. 2. Probably would have not put up with most of the bullying. Looking back, I think I could have held my own. 3. I would have asked out some the girls I had crushes on (Heidi Lerum, Kim Mills and just one or two others). 4. Would have gone out for the track team like coach suggested. 5. Would have continued in choir 6. Just would have tried to be a little braver.

Rowdy Kirkpatrick: Lighting off M-80's (firecrackers) during pep rally's. And, doing some of the crazy antics on road trips in sports. Anybody remember the term "face"? Michael Williams: Very loaded question. I can't decide whether it was the 'baby-food-bombs' at the Fiesta Bowl (band) hotel, four-wheeling in the Fox's C.J.Vega, or taking the Boehm "Family Wagon" out on the jeep trails with a record-setting 18-drunks inside! From
Michael Sanchez: The best memory for me was winning Grand Champs in band in my junior
year. I made the mistake of putting down my trumpet during the
celebration and it was stepped on a number of times. Didn't mind, though;
was having too much fun celebrating. Funniest--there are a number of
things, most not suitable for print (huh, Steve Groll?), but throwing baby Question 2: What is your worse High School Memory? Probably being picked on by an upper classman (Senior); can't even remember his name now. Second would be the dropped pass in the end zone against Roswell in our Senior year. That team was so good, I think they would've beat Clovis had they gotten another chance in the playoffs.. Question 3: What was the craziest thing that has happened to you since high school? There's been ALOT of adventures, but crazy? One night, when I lived in
D.C., my friends and I went to happy hour at "The Insect Club". ABC news
was filming there, cause the club served dead insects as snacks. Well,
having a few brews in the belly, we decided to eat them in order to get on

Questions: Washington DC There were a couple of girls I regretted not gathering up the courage
to ask out--I liked Kim Mills, but nada. Also thought Julie Farley and
Salina Lucero were beautiful, but I never even talked to them. UGH! I
thought the Breakfast Club was a bit stupid (although I did like the song
by Simple Minds). They had a geek, but he wasn't a band geek like me. Cruisin' down White Sands, to McDonalds. Used to go by Pizza Mill as well. ~Wallpapers~ Get your FREE Tiger Wallpapers Here, courtesy of the Class of '80 website! ~Posters~ |
