Birthday: November 14, 1956 in Perth Amboy, NJ.
Family: Alec is divorced (single)
Mother: Helen Such His mother played violin and his father played a Gypsy Hungarian instrument called the cimbalem.

Alec John Such was the original 5th member of Bon Jovi from 1983 until 1994. According to VH1's 'Behind the Music' Alec was let go after his playing started deteriorating.
Alec was accepted into the New Jersey All-State Orchestra while he was a student of the Rahway Junior High School. Alec co-managed UROK and was on the Advisory Board of the National Music Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to American music and people
After he left the band he has managed a number of local Jersey bands and he also owns a bike shop in New York. He also had a motorcycle accident in September 1996.

Hugh McDonald

Real Name: Hugh McDonald
Birthday: December 28, 1961 in Philadelphia, PA
Family: Wife - Nancy (married in 1996)
Previous Bands: Before touring with Bon Jovi, Hugh had been mainly a studio musician, working with a lot of artists, including Cher, Alice Cooper and Michael Bolton.
Instrument Played: Bass

Hugh McDonald, although not an 'official' member of Bon Jovi, has been touring with Jon and Bon Jovi ever since Alec's departure. He has also played the bass on all Bon Jovi albums except 7800 Ferenheit.
Hugh is originally from Philadelphia, PA, lived in Cambridge (Boston area) Massachussets for 6 years and then moved to NY in 1980. He started working at Power Station, a studio owned by Tony Bongiovi, Jon Bon Jovi’s cousin. There he was asked to play the bass on one of Jon’s demos: “She don’t know me”. Shortly after that he recorded “Runaway”, as part of the All Star Review studio band. He also played with Tico in one of his bands before Bon Jovi.
Up until joining the group he had been mainly a studio musician.
